What is the bank for GoHenry?
Our bank. IDT Financial Services is the bank that issues our cards. They also enable us to operate our e-money service within government and industry regulations. IDT is a Visa member and issues our Visa Bank Identification Number and is licensed by the Financial Services Commission.
The GoHenry card is issued by IDT Financial Services Limited, a regulated bank, licensed by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission in Gibraltar that is permitted to issue e-money and provide payment services in the UK by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) (IDT Firm reference number: 453514).
GoHenry is a prepaid debit card and learning app. It works like a bank card but with loads of extra features to help your kids learn about money safely. They can learn money skills in-app, and practise by using their card, while you watch and guide with your parent app.
Parents and kids each have their own GoHenry account number and sort code. This means you can top up your parent account or transfer money to your child using a bank transfer.
GoHenry is a digital service, which means money can only be added to your account by bank transfer or debit card. We cannot accept checks. If you have already been given a check but your child is too young to have their own bank account, ask the sender to write the check in your name.

If you are unable to withdraw funds from an ATM then we may be able to transfer the funds back to their source bank account. To request this service, please email help@gohenrycard.com with the amount you'd like transferred and your bank details.
GoHenry accounts can be set up for children and teens between 6 and 18. If your child simply can't wait, you can create an account one month before their sixth birthday. They'll then receive their card in time for the big day.
For children under 16, the bank account will need to be opened by their parent, guardian or grandparent either in a branch or online.
The best way for friends or family to send money to your child's GoHenry account is to use a Giftlink or have them create a relative account. To create a Giftlink, log in to your parent app and tap 'Money' at the bottom of the screen, then 'Giftlinks'.

GoHenry costs just $4.99 per child per month—that includes a card for kids, plus an app with smart tools for parents and fun ways for kids to earn, save, give and learn.
GoHenry doesn't charge a fee for either domestic (US) or international ATM use, although there may be a fee imposed by the ATM operator at some ATMs.
Your child can use GoHenry at an ATM, and they have a daily limit of £120 (you can set this to less on the app) and a daily maximum of three ATM withdrawals a day. Their weekly spending limit will also affect how much money your kids can take out, so it's also important for kids to know their limits.
Is It Safe And Secure? Yes, the money held in your GoHenry account is FDIC-insured for up to $250,000. That means that your funds are insured, even if GoHenry goes out of business. The debit card comes with chip and pin protection, bank-level encryption, and the ability to block and unblock spending at any time.

If your child is still using their GoHenry card in the lead up to their 18th birthday, they will be able to continue to use it until the card expires.
What's more, GoHenry makes it easy for family members to participate in children's financial learning. Because you can add family members as GoHenry Relatives you can send money to your grandchild whenever you choose.
How long does it take for money to go into a GoHenry account?
Standing Orders, Faster Payment and bank transfers into your GoHenry account can take up to 24 working hours to process. We recommend setting them up before 2pm the working day before you'd like the funds to land in your parent account.
GoHenry cards can be registered with PayPal, however your child will not be able to use the card to create an account as you need to be 18 or over to do this.
GoHenry is charged every time our members load their GoHenry account, and the introduction of PSD2 has meant that businesses can no longer distinguish between payment methods when charging for transactions. We are unable to absorb the total cost of every load.
How old do you have to be to have a GoHenry card? GoHenry takes the guesswork out of wondering, what age should a child get a debit card? Created for young people ages 6-18, GoHenry kids can earn pocket money, complete chores, set savings goals, give to charity, and learn to spend responsibly.
What age can you get a debit card? A child can typically get a teen debit card at 13 years old when a parent or legal guardian opens a joint teen checking account on their behalf. Teen checking accounts are typically available until the child turns 18.
