Failure isn't an option for the new Navy SEALs, and that kind of pressure can take a toll on the members of the special operations forces' most elite unit. This team trains, plans and executes some of the most dangerous, high-stakes missions and deploys for clandestine missions around the globe at a moment's notice. While serving their country is a worthy and rewarding cause, it can put a strain on the SEALs and their families, causing the guys to look out for one another in the face of seemingly overwhelming odds, both on and off the job. SEAL Team's solidly written first season offers compelling characters and hints at broader potential, even if it's somewhat undermined by an overall sense of predictability.

SEAL Team: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (1) Michael Starr New York Post You know what you're getting -- and, if you're OK with that, you'll continue to watch the show. Rated: 2.5/4 Aug 1, 2018 Full Review SEAL Team: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (2) Scott Von Doviak AV Club It makes for an uninspired and forgettable viewing experience. Rated: C- May 29, 2018 Full Review SEAL Team: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (3) Allison Keene Collider SEAL Team is built for success and will probably find it. But like the members of the SEAL Team, it's better on the battlefield than on the home front. May 29, 2018 Full Review SEAL Team: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (4) Tim Morris TV Fanatic Sonny is definitely the wildcard of this group. It remains to be seen if he can continue to keep his emotions in check in future episodes. Rated: 4/5 Jan 15, 2019 Full Review SEAL Team: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (5) Scott D. Pierce Salt Lake Tribune It's the best of the three military-themed shows, but that's not saying much. Oct 21, 2017 Full Review SEAL Team: Season 1 | Rotten Tomatoes (6) Ken Tucker Yahoo! TV The show's strength resides primarily in Boreanaz's performance. I'd have thought after all those years in Bones, he'd have chosen a follow-up series that had a lighter work-load... The man is a work horse, but he's our work horse. God bless America. Oct 4, 2017 Full Review Read all reviews

Audience Member Feels a little messy. Don’t really approve. Definitely still will watch the next season of the show. Rated 2.5/5 Stars • Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 08/16/24 Full Review Christopher H Great - if you're a fourteen year old boy. A poor copy of 'The Unit'. Rated 2/5 Stars • Rated 2 out of 5 stars 06/15/24 Full Review Test T I watched some of this on DVD recently. I'm always suspicious of programmes set at night, or in poorly lit settings. Having invested in a large 4k HDR television I expect to light up those pixels with lots of vibrent colours so at the very least I can see what's going on. This show is one of those dark, murky, muddy affairs where for the most part you'd have just as much chance of following the story if you went into another room and stared out of the window! Yes, I know I'm exaggerating, but that's the way I feel about stuff like this, because it annoys me when poor "atmospheric" lighting is used to cover up for a low budget production. I tried with this show, but I did not like it and could not get interested in it. It's too serious and reflective for me, and only served to depress me. It's not my thing, and I can't recommend it. Rated 1/5 Stars • Rated 1 out of 5 stars 05/25/24 Full Review Jasper H SEAL Team captures all the action, excitement, and adrenaline of the epitomized military/special-operations motion picture, but balances this with very relevant and real depictions of personal issues, struggles with mental health, and societal problems. As someone with 12+ years of martial arts experience and an avid action film critic, this series has some of the most realistic combat choreography out there, and still manages to be gripping for the viewer. SEAL Team satisfies a quench for action without compromising on realism nor relying heavily on plot armour. Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/13/23 Full Review Yvonne A I have been glued to the screen for all of the first 4 series. Why, oh why, did you have to start throwing the f word every minute. There was no real need as the first 4 showed, so disappointed to see it creeping in series 5 and 6. But aside from that I really have enjoyed this first class drama/actione series. Rated 4/5 Stars • Rated 4 out of 5 stars 09/28/23 Full Review Sarah L Really enjoyed each season of Seal Team and am eagerly awaiting the promised Season 7! Acting and writing is generally excellent and the entire show seems very authentic! So refreshing to watch something that doesn't throw politics into every scene. Violence is more implied yet battle scenes are heartstrings. Well done! Rated 5/5 Stars • Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/29/23 Full Review Read all reviews
