Inflation is transitory, we can print as much money as we want. Borders who needs borders. Houses see above comments. Energy we don’t need energy, much less for Canadians. I mean it never gets cold here. Personally I use wind and solar to heat my house in Manitoba! What a joke Canada and the US have become. Absolutely disgrace. The stupidest people run these countries, don’t believe me, revert to Canada’s finance minister for anytime she has opened her mouth. These numbers are no surprise and only going to get worse as the year goes on! Rant over 😂

Do understand some of those layoffs - Paypal's stock has been tanking for a long time. But why Microsoft? They are bathing in cash, with a reported 40B in gross profits (September 2023). It's a strange move to welcome a new company like Activision Blizzard into a marriage by firing a ton of their staff. Normally you strengthen your acquisition partner, you don't weaken them. Maybe someone can explain. If you are short on cash, sure - you have to. Twitch has never been profitable which makes, layoffs tough to avoid - that's not nice, but understandable. But if you are doing really, really well, why that Game of Thrones move. I don't see the strategy here...

The UPS cuts really surprised me this morning since they are unlike their more tech heavy peers on this list.

NO shade. It's SAD that I was excited to see some of these companies have roles I qualified for. I won't waste my time, energy, or passion to be CONSIDERED at any company willing to lay off good talent. I can only imagine what the morale feels like for all those left..

As companies pursue lower profits, more layoffs will appear and the recent rise in inflation and cost of living increase from higher interest rates to food to shelter costs, can all be traced to bad public policy. November is coming everyone and make sure that you hold Democrats accountable and vote Republican! The GOP are far more pro business and less social policy oriented and keep in mind, not one nation ever improved its standard of living with social policies....
