Where can I find digital SAT practice tests? ›

Take full-length digital SAT practice exams by first downloading Bluebook and completing practice tests. Then sign into My Practice to view practice test results and review practice exam items, answers, and explanations.

Similarities between the Digital and Paper-and-Pencil SAT

It's helpful to know what won't change between the two tests. The scoring scale is still 400-1600 (which helps to answer the question of which test is harder – more on that below).

To sum it all up: the digital SAT is not designed to be easier than the pencil-and-paper SAT. However, some of the changes to the digital SAT make accessing the exam, taking the exam, and receiving scores easier for students.

Broken down by section, you can get 7 wrong in Math for a 700 and 8 wrong in Reading & Writing for a 700. To earn a 1400 overall, you can still get 15 answers wrong and be just 200 points shy of a perfect 1600!

Which digital practice test is the most accurate? Because the SAT is run by the College Board, the College Board's own practice tests through the Bluebook app will be most representative of the actual test.

As its name suggests, the Digital SAT is taken on an electronic device. (Note that the Digital SAT is not taken at home - you'll still need to go a test center to take the SAT.) If you are taking the Digital SAT at school, your school may provide you with a device to use during the test.

Unfortunately, on the Digital SAT, about a fourth of the questions—roughly 11 questions in the Math section—are completely self-produced. You don't get any options to pick from; you just have to generate the number on your own and type it into the computer.

The Reading and Writing section was more in line with expectations, but still more difficult than expected for many. Many students reported lower scores on the March test than expected. Although Test Innovators' practice tests were harder than the Bluebook tests, more difficult practice would be beneficial.

The SAT® exam itself is not curved relative to test takers.

A 1200 is an above average score that places you in approximately the 74th percentile of all high school students taking the exam. A score of 1200 makes it possible to apply to the vast majority of schools throughout the nation and be competitive for admission at a sizable number of colleges.

As of March 2024, the Digital SAT has fully replaced the old paper version, now no longer an option. As such, lots of students are wondering what's different about the digital version. The short answer to what's different, is that the new SAT does introduce some important changes that all test takes should know about.

The digital SAT is composed of two sections: Reading and Writing and Math. Students have 64 minutes to complete the Reading and Writing section and 70 minutes to complete the Math section for a total of 2 hours and 14 minutes.
