The deadline for first-year applicants to submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) and accept their offer of admission to UCI is May 15, 2024.


The deadline for transfer and second baccalaureate applicants to submit the SIR and accept their offer of admission to UCI is June 1, 2024.

Applicants who were eligible for a UC Application fee waiver automatically receive an SIR deposit deferral.For questions on deferring your SIR deposit, please contact your counselor in your Admitted Student Portal.SIR deposit defer requests must be made by May 13, 2024 for first-year applicants and May 30, 2024 for transfer applicants.

Applicants that missed the SIR deadline can submit an Appeal to Late SIR within 15 days of their deadline passing. Appeals may take 6-8 weeks to process and are considered on a case-by-case basis. To submit an Appeal to Late SIR, visit your Admitted Student Portal.

Please notify our office about any deficient grades by submitting the “Report Low Grade” form in your portal. This form can be found under the "Reporting Changes" section of your portal.All applicants should review their Admitted Provisional Contract under the "Conditions" tab in their Admitted Student Portal. The contract states all conditions needed to fulfill admission. At this time we are unable to provide a final decision until finalized official transcripts have been reviewed by our office.

UCI admissions decisions are based on the information submitted on your UC Application and/or have reported as planned. First-year applicants are responsible for reporting any schedule changes to your class schedule. To notify our office about a course schedule change, please submit the Report Changes in Schools or Coursework Form in your portal.This form is also located in the "Reporting Changes" section of your portal.

At this time we are unable to provide a final decision until all required documents have been reviewed by our office. Please visit the 'Conditions' tab in your portal to review the required grades for your courses.Notify our office about any D/F/NP grades by submitting the Update to Conditioned Courses form. This form can be found under the “Reporting Changes” section of your portal.

Admitted students planning to drop a course should review their Admitted Provisional Contract under the "Conditions" tab in their portal. The contract states all courses that are needed to fulfill your admission offer. At this time we are unable to provide a final decision until all required documents have been reviewed by our office.Notify our office about any course withdrawals by submitting the Update to Conditioned Courses form. This form can be found under the “Reporting Changes” section of your portal.

In general, UCI does not defer undergraduate offers of admission. However, admission deferments can be requested under certain circ*mstances. If you would like more information about our Deferment Policy, please visit ourAdmissions Policies website.

Due to the high volume of competitive applications we receive, we are unable to admit all applicants to their first choice major listed on their application. Applicants who were not offered their primary major may have been admitted to the alternate major listed on their application or to our Undergraduate Undeclared program.

  • First-year students: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions does not change majors for admitted students.
  • Transfer students: The Office of Undergraduate Admissions does not change majors for admitted students. Applicants must meet the major requirements for their admitted major.

Minors can be declared through the academic unit the minor belongs to once you become an enrolled student.Please visit the UCI Course Catalog to see a list of minors offered at UCI.

Test Scores, Transcripts, etc.

Official final transcripts are due to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by July 1, 2024. Official transcripts should be sent electronically through one of our online vendor options. If your institutionis unableto send electronic transcripts, they must issue your official transcript to our office in a sealed envelope.Processing physical transcripts can take 2-4 weeks once received by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions. There is no need to send a physical transcript once an electronic one has been sent.Please visit our Submitting Official Documents page for more information.

Official test scores are due to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by July 15, 2024.

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Exams: Please visit collegeboard.org and use College Board Code 4859 or call 866-756-7346 with any questions. To ensure we receive a complete set of AP scores, you need to individually specify the test year(s) that the AP Exam(s) were taken when you make your request.
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Higher Level Exams: Please visit ibo.org or contact the International Baccalaureate Office at 301-202-3025.
  • For instructions on how to send official International Exams (ie. I/GCSE, A-Levels), visit the International Academic Records page.

    Applicants can optionally provide SAT or ACT test scores for course placement or graduation requirements.

  • ACT Test Scores: Please visit the ACT website and use ACT College Code 0446, or call 319-337-1313 with any questions.
  • SAT and SAT II Subject Tests: Please visit collegeboard.org and use College Board Code 4859, or call 866-756-7346 with any questions.

Note: Contact your admission counselor in your Admitted Student Portal if the name and birthdate used on your exams do not match what you provided on your UC Application.

  • The SAT College Board Code is 04859.
  • The ACT College Code is 0446.

If you earned scores of 3, 4, or 5 on the College Board Advanced Placement Examinations, you will receive credit toward graduation at UCI. The unit and subject credit allowed toward degree requirements assigned to each test are shown on theAP Exam Credit Chart.
